I offer flexible, bespoke services to help you access funding, grow your business, reach wider audiences and have more time to be creative.
I know it can seem like a big investment to pay for admin support when funding is so challenging to come by.
I know it can be very difficult to find someone who understands what you need as a creative looking for business support.
I understand the creative industries so you don't need to explain those complexities to me - we can get straight on with things
I love working with creative people – whether that's theatre companies or individuals – actors, writers, dancers, directors, photographers – whatever part of the creative world you fit in – I provide a solid, reliable and efficient admin service in order to give you the freedom to be creative.
Just think about this:
How many times have you started to reply to emails and got side-tracked?
Do you forget to submit invoices for work you have done?
Do you feel awkward negotiating fees and contracts?
Is your diary a confused jumble and your filing system a bunch of crumpled receipts?
I can turn that chaos into the calm you need
Sometimes you need a fresh pair of eyes, an extra brain and another pair of hands to make sense of something you are struggling with.
When you’re busy in rehearsals, writing or on tour you can be confident I am dealing with day-to-day admin for you so you don’t have 50,000 emails when you get back exhausted from Fringe season!!
1. Contracts and negotiations
Discussing money can be uncomfortable and the back and forth of negotiation can be exhausting. Having a VA act as a buffer between you and the producer can help maintain professionalism. I understand industry rates and can help ensure you get what you are worth and that your contract is clear and fair to all parties. I can also do this for your day rate, travel, accommodation and other allowances. I always act in full consultation with my clients and with your agreement. I can compile a full document detailing costs and income for all jobs which will help you see what you were paid for different jobs to make it easier for you to compare new offers.
2. Email and diary management
When Producers or Agents need to know your availability, I can manage this for you, I can also book auditions, meetings and other appointments for you. If you are booked in for a long-term project or tour and need to be available for moves, rehearsals etc I can ensure there are no clashes. I can also manage your inbox so nothing gets missed and emails are responded to professionally in a timely manner.
3. Logistics: Onsite or remote
If you are managing an event – auditions, filming, tour, festival etc I can manage the logistics of this for you so you can concentrate on your part – whether that’s directing, curating or hosting. I can manage contracts, insurance, venues, accommodation and making sure the right people are in the right place at the right time
4. Invoicing
I can manage the whole process of invoicing for you. Sending them, chasing them and marking payment received. I will track the whole process which will make it easier for you when it comes to taxes!
5. General admin
Do you need to find a venue for auditions somewhere you don’t know well – done
Do you need to research something specific about a person, place, thing – done
Do you need to find a new supplier for something – done
Do you want to send a newsletter to your people – done
If you need anything admin doing – I can do it
I can make your systems work better so you have more time to be creative, by putting everything in the right place you know exactly what you’re doing
6. Grant writing
I can act as an Access Support Worker for you to help with your Arts Council (or other funders) application and in many cases, ACE will pay for my time so you don’t have to
7. Wellbeing support
I am a Mental Health First Aider and I can provide wellbeing support for you and your team, either onsite or remotely; sometimes it can be helpful for people to have someone else to talk to, a sounding board or a gentle ear
Need a bit more convincing?
When you work with me as a freelance VA you only pay for the hours you need and I don’t mind if that’s 1 hour a month or 10 hours a week or anything in between.
You can work with me regularly, for a one-off project or simply for a specific task
I don’t charge a retainer fee so you can be assured you get all the time you pay for
I’m fully insured including professional indemnity and public liability insurance
I’m registered with the Information Commissioners Office for GDPR purposes
I am a Mental Health First Aider and can provide wellbeing support for your team
